The REAL Super Bowl of Combat Sports This Weekend!

Yes, I am talking about Conor McGregor (21-3) vs Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov (26-0) at UFC 229 on Saturday October 6th. It’s the classic fight tale in mma of the striker vs grappler, with one guy in McGregor having a rocket launcher of a left hand and the other guy in Khabib with the mauling wrestling pressure.

After all the talk and speculation on whether Conor McGregor would return or not has delayed this fight from happening up until this point. It would leave one to wonder if it took Khabib to confront Conor’s friend Artem Lobov during UFC 223 fight week that led to Conor flying to New York from Ireland and throwing a dolly through a bus window at Khabib. Would this fight be going down without that incident or would Conor just be sitting on that huge pile of cash he earned fighting Floyd Mayweather in 2017?

No matter what the reason was that brought Conor back to fight Khabib all I know is one thing. It doesn’t matter who wins between the two fighters because the winner of arguably the biggest mma fight in history is the FANS! This fight has a ton of potential to be a back and forth war where one guy could impose his will on the other in devastating fashion. The shear thought this fight could end in just a few seconds via lefthand of McGregor which McGregor did to Jose Aldo at UFC 194, or it could be a five round beatdown via Khabib with his grueling pressure and ground and pound!

As of the day of the weigh-ins the lightweight champion Khabib is a -160 favorite over Conor who is a +130 according to Bovada.

My prediction for the fight is Conor wins via KO in the 2nd round. The reasoning behind that prediction Conor has been in hibernation just preparing for Khabib over the past year or more, whereas Khabib has been fighting other top fighters in the lightweight division while also trying to make that difficult weight cut to 155 pounds.

Strike up a conversation with me in the comment section below I would like to hear your thoughts on how you think this fight will go down and who will win! Even if you read this after the event happens on Saturday night chime in here and drop your thoughts in the comment section on what you thought or what is next for both guys!
